About Us
Daniel Lloyd Ellis-Stretch
Daniel founded DS Equine to bring a professional, structured approach to breaking and early development training to horse owners across South Wales. His grounding comes from years spent working within elite National Hunt racing yards — environments where patience, precision, and correct foundational work are essential to producing sound, rideable horses.
That background shapes everything about how DS Equine works: horses are never rushed, every stage of training is built on the last, and communication with owners is honest and clear throughout the process. Our Training Philosophy
Every horse that comes to DS Equine is treated as an individual. Training progresses in small, considered steps — groundwork before ridden work, calm repetition before challenge — so that each horse builds confidence rather than simply tolerance. The aim is always a settled, rideable young horse with a solid foundation for whatever discipline they go on to, whether that’s hacking, competition, or further specialist schooling.
What Sets Us Apart
Grounded Experience
Daniel's approach is shaped by time spent working within elite National Hunt racing yards, where correct foundations and quiet, consistent handling are non-negotiable.
Individual Programmes
No two horses are the same. Every programme is paced to the individual horse's temperament, physical development, and owner's goals, rather than a fixed template.
Transparent Pricing
A single, clear rate of £200 per horse per week, with no hidden extras. Owners know exactly what they are paying for from day one.
